Using Windows Live Writer

For years I’ve been updating this little corner of the internet by using Bloggers own WYSIWYG editor and while it’s okay, it’s not great.

So in my attempts to make the whole process of blogging and setting out a page a touch easier I’ve decide to give Windows Live Writer a go and what you’re reading now is the result of that first attempt.

My initial thoughts as I sit here typing are extremely favourable.  Rather than seeing an unformatted page as I would do when I clicked preview in Blogger, on Writer I’m drafting out this post on a representation of the blog layout so I can see exactly how it would look when I click ‘post’. Wile_E._COyote

This also makes it easier when it comes to inserting items such as photos into the main body of text.  Images are easy to place when they’re large because the take up the width of the column.  When it comes to wrapping text around them however Blogger becomes no help at all which is why I’m hoping Writer will become the first point of call for me when it comes to updating the blogs.

So in order to check whether placing images is easy or not I’ve stuck a photograph of Wile E. Coyote to right of this column of text.  If you see him it has worked – if you don’t it hasn’t and the next update will be done through Blogger again!

Till next time then!
